The GE LightSpeed 16 is designed to acquire up to 16 slices per gantry rotation, with thin-slice acquisition down to 0.625 mm. Its multislice architecture supports detailed imaging across routine head, chest, abdominal, vascular, and other CT applications.
With rotational speeds as fast as 0.5 seconds, the system provides rapid helical scanning and table speeds up to approximately 35 mm per rotation, helping reduce exam times while providing efficient anatomical coverage.
The LightSpeed 16 supports multiple acquisition and reconstruction thicknesses, including 0.625, 1.25, 2.5, 3.75, 5, 7.5, and 10 mm. Prospective and retrospective reconstruction capabilities allow operators to generate different image thicknesses from acquired data without repeating the scan.
The platform offers a broad range of capabilities, including SmartPrep contrast monitoring, 3D imaging, CT angiography, lung analysis, CT colonography, vessel analysis, cardiac applications, perfusion imaging, and Advantage Sim, depending on the system’s installed software and options.
